Our 14-day trip brings you the highlights of Uganda: where the savannah meets the rainforest. During this trip it is possible to see the Big 5, gorillas and chimps.

Day 1- Entebbe Airport – Entebbe
Activities
Arrival at Entebbe Airport. Your guide will be there waiting for you. Pick up and proceed to your accommodation.

Day 2 – Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Approx. 3 hours
Activities
Take a canoe trip in Mabamba Swamp to search for the elusive Shoebill Stork.
Mabamba Swamp is a large and accessible wetland on the shores of Lake Victoria. This is one of the best places to see the rare and special Shoebill Stork.
We will drive to Ziwa Sanctuary for a White Rhino bush walk after Mabamba. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see the white rhinos in the wild.

Day 3 – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park
Approx. 3 hours
Activities
Drive to Murchison Falls. We visit the top of the falls and go for an afternoon game drive.
Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful national parks of Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters.
Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.

Day 4 – Murchison Falls National Park
Activities
Early morning game drive.
In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls.
The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species and animals coming for a drink or a plunge.

Day 5 – Murchison Falls National Park → Kibale Forest
Distance: 390 km | Approx. 7 hours
Activities
After breakfast, we drive to Kibale Forest National Park.
The journey takes you through the Albertan Escarpment of the western arm of the East African Rift Valley with dramatic views, traditional homesteads and scenic views of the Mountains of the Moon.
Reach Kibale Forest in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle and is best known as the Primates Capital of the World. In Kibale Forest live 13 primate species, including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey.

Day 6 – Kibale Forest
Activities
Chimpanzee tracking in the morning or in the afternoon.
There is also an option to upgrade this 1-hour tracking to a Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, involving 4 hours of tracking.
Depending on the time of the chimpanzee tracking, we will go for the Bigodi Swamp Walk before or after the chimpanzee tracking.
During this walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, you will see many birds and primates.

Day 7 – Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Distance: 160 km | Approx. 4 hours
Activities
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
On our way we pass the Equator. Game drive in the afternoon.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Expect to see elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.

Day 8 – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Activities
Game drive in the morning.
Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon.
The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos.

Day 9 – Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha
Distance: 100 km | Approx. 3 hours
Activities
After breakfast we drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Ishasha sector in the South.
Game drive in the afternoon.
Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions. The other attraction of Ishasha are the Topis, not found anywhere else in this National Park.

Day 10 – Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable
Distance: 65 km / 2 hours or 150 km / 5 hours
Activities
Early morning game drive in Ishasha.
Afterwards we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through interesting villages and have some breath-taking views of the mountains.
Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas.
The lodge in Bwindi we use and driving time to Bwindi depends on the group of gorillas you will track.

Day 11 – Bwindi Impenetrable
Gorilla Tracking
Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world’s most interesting and endangered animals, the Mountain Gorilla.
You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget.

Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking (FB).
Day 12 – Bwindi Impenetrable – Lake Bunyonyi
Distance: 65 km / 2 hours or 150 km / 5 hours
Activities
In Bwindi it is possible to do one of the following optional activities:
- Second gorilla tracking
- Forest walk
- Birding walk
- Community experience with the exceptional Batwa people
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and visit Kabaya Primary School, which is supported by Kazinga Tours.
Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest and most beautiful lakes of Uganda. This crater lake is located at an altitude of 2,000 m and was created by multiple volcanic eruptions.
Because of the altitude, the lake is safe to swim in, as there are no diseases, hippos or crocodiles in the lake.

Day 13 — Lake Bunyonyi → Lake Mburo National Park
Distance: 200 km | Approx. 4 hours
Activities
After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Optional boat trip on the lake in the afternoon.
In the evening, we make a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.
Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda.
There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.

Day 14 – Lake Mburo – Entebbe

Important Notes
- We use 4×4 custom-made safari vehicles with a roof which can be opened for a 360-degree view during safaris.

- During the trip, breakfast and dinner are normally in the lodge, while lunch can be a lunch box or a stop in a restaurant.

Uganda Visa Information
For visitors traveling to Uganda, the itinerary states that it is mandatory to apply for a visa online and advises applying at least one month before departure.

The itinerary states that the East Africa Tourist Visa covers Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
The document further states that applicants can pay online or on arrival and will receive a tracking code after submitting the form. Once approved, the Ugandan authorities send a letter by email, which should be printed and presented on arrival.

Some nationalities do not require a visa, so travelers are advised to check this in advance.
