And with diverse landscapes comes diverse wildlife: the rare Beisa oryx and Grevy’s zebra await in the hot Samburu, while the lush Aberdare is home to large elephant herds. Flocks of flamingos gather at Lake Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley and the Big Five are at home in the plains of the Masai Mara. Experience an unforgettable Kenya safari across iconic national parks and reserves in a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a guaranteed window seat and pop-up roof for the best views.
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve
Depart Nairobi and head north past Mount Kenya to the arid landscapes of Samburu. Cross the equator en route and enjoy your first afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Ngiro River. Stay at the riverside Elephant Bedroom Camp, surrounded by nature.
Day 2: Explore Samburu
Spend the day spotting rare wildlife unique to northern Kenya, including Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Samburu’s dry terrain offers excellent wildlife sightings, especially near the river.
Day 3: Samburu to Aberdare National Park
Travel to the lush highlands of Aberdare. Enjoy a scenic game drive through mountain rainforest, home to elephants, leopards, and the elusive bongo antelope. Stay at The Ark, a lodge with a floodlit waterhole perfect for nighttime viewing.
Day 4: Aberdare to Lake Nakuru National Park
Drive through the Great Rift Valley and visit Thomson’s Falls before reaching Lake Nakuru. Known for flamingos and rhinos, this park offers incredible birdlife and big game sightings. Overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Enter the world-renowned Masai Mara, famous for the Big Five and the Great Migration. Enjoy an afternoon game drive across open savannah.
Day 6: Full Day in Masai Mara
Spend the day exploring one of Africa’s best safari destinations. Visit the Mara River and watch for lions, elephants, and cheetahs in their natural habitat.
Day 7: Return to Nairobi
After a final breakfast in the bush, return to Nairobi, ending your immersive African safari adventure.
