Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: JNIA Airport – Dar es Salaam City                        BB

Arrive at Dar es Salaam International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide. After a brief introduction, enjoy a comfortable transfer to your hotel in the city, located approximately 12 km (about 30 minutes) from the airport. Relax and unwind after your journey as you prepare for the exciting days ahead on your Southern Circuit safari. This overnight stay in Dar es Salaam sets the perfect tone for the adventure to come.

Day 2: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park                       FB

After breakfast on the first day of your safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and begin the drive to Mikumi National Park via the Dar es Salaam–Morogoro highway. The park lies beautifully between the Uluguru Mountains of the Ancient Eastern Arc to the east and the Great Rift Valley escarpments to the southwest. The journey from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi takes about 4 to 4.5 hours on a good tarmac road. You will arrive around noon and head straight out for game drives, enjoying a packed lunch at a picnic site. Later in the afternoon, we will drive to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Saadani National Park                                  FB       

After breakfast, spend a full day enjoying game drives throughout Mikumi National Park, either with a packed lunch at a picnic site or by doing morning and afternoon drives with a lunch break at your lodge or tented camp. Mikumi is part of the larger Selous Ecosystem, which includes the Selous Game Reserve, and is home to an impressive variety of bird species and wildlife. In 3-Day Mikumi Safari Adventure Animals you may encounter include giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests, elands, and many other antelopes. In addition of this 3-Day Mikumi Safari Adventure to game drives, you can also opt for a guided walking safari led by an armed ranger for a closer experience of the park’s diverse environment.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam                      HB

This morning, after breakfast, check out of the lodge or camp and begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. Upon arrival, your safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or at Dar es Salaam Airport for your departure flight home or onward journey to Zanzibar.
